Digital purchase policy
Know what happens before and after checkout.
Oddity Software primarily sells downloadable databases, licensed data products, and other digital deliverables. Because access can be provided immediately and digital files cannot meaningfully be “returned,” these purchases require a policy designed for electronic delivery.
This policy does not remove any non-waivable right provided by applicable law, PayPal, or your payment-card issuer. PayPal and card issuers decide claims under their own eligibility rules and procedures.
Before purchasing
Confirm the product fits your intended use
Product descriptions, record counts, formats, update dates, samples, and license options are part of the purchase decision. Ask questions before checkout when a particular field, geography, format, use, or compatibility requirement is essential.
Read the listing
Confirm the described coverage, edition, approximate record count, included fields, file format, and stated limitations.
Choose the correct license
Your purchase grants the selected license; it does not transfer ownership or permit uses outside that license.
Check compatibility
Make sure you can open, import, and use the listed file type with your software and technical environment.
Use accurate account details
Provide an email address and account information you control so delivery and support can be matched to the transaction.
Electronic fulfillment
How digital delivery works
Payment must be completed or otherwise approved before a digital product is released. Access may be provided through the customer account, a download page, an email sent to the transaction or account address, or another documented electronic method.
A product is considered delivered when access is made available as described for the order, whether or not the buyer immediately opens or downloads it.
To operate the account, support customers, prevent abuse, and respond to payment claims, Oddity may retain records such as:
- Order and PayPal transaction identifiers
- Delivery and notification timestamps
- The account or email receiving access
- Download, access, and authentication events
- IP address, browser, and relevant server logs
- Support messages and replacement activity
Refunds, corrections, and replacements
Digital sales are generally final after delivery
Once a downloadable product has been delivered or access has been issued, cancellation for buyer’s remorse, changed needs, failure to review the listing, lack of compatible software, or expectations beyond the product description generally does not qualify for a refund.
Problems we will investigate
- A duplicate payment for the same order
- The delivered file is corrupted or cannot be downloaded
- The wrong product or license was supplied
- A major advertised component is missing
- The product is materially different from its listing
Normal resolution path
- Contact Oddity promptly with the order number and a specific description.
- Allow reasonable time to reproduce and diagnose the problem.
- When appropriate, Oddity may restore access, replace or correct files, provide the correct product, issue account credit, or approve a full or partial refund.
Contacting us within seven calendar days of delivery usually gives us the best opportunity to verify and correct a technical or fulfillment problem. This request window does not shorten any longer period that applicable law or a payment provider requires.
PayPal and payment disputes
Please give us a chance to solve a legitimate order issue.
If access is missing, a file appears wrong, or a charge is unfamiliar, contact Oddity with the order or PayPal transaction details. Many delivery and account issues can be corrected faster than a formal claim.
If you believe a PayPal transaction was genuinely unauthorized, contact PayPal immediately through its official account and Resolution Center. Do not access or download the product after discovering a potentially unauthorized purchase.
Custom work and services
Separate project terms control
Custom data work, development, consulting, subscriptions, and other services may use a proposal, statement of work, invoice, milestone plan, or service agreement with its own cancellation and refund terms. When those written terms conflict with this general policy, the project-specific terms govern that work.
Billing errors
Incorrect or duplicate charges
Report a suspected duplicate, incorrect amount, or payment applied to the wrong order with the transaction identifier and supporting details. Confirmed billing errors will be corrected using an appropriate method, ordinarily back to the original payment source when possible.
I never received the download email. What should I do?
Check spam and the email address associated with the order, then sign in to your Oddity account to review available downloads. If access is still missing, contact us with the order or PayPal transaction identifier.
I downloaded the product but changed my mind. Is that refundable?
Generally no. A correctly described digital product cannot be returned after access or delivery simply because the buyer no longer wants it or expected something not included in the listing.
What if the file is damaged or materially different?
Send a specific explanation and, when useful, screenshots or error details. Oddity will compare the delivered product with the listing and determine an appropriate correction, replacement, credit, or refund.
Does this policy override PayPal Purchase Protection?
No. PayPal independently determines eligibility and outcomes under its current programs and legal terms. The same is true of applicable card-issuer and statutory rights.
Can access be suspended during a dispute or reversal?
Yes. If payment is reversed, disputed, refunded, or reasonably suspected of fraud, Oddity may temporarily suspend related downloads, licenses, or account access while the transaction is reviewed. Access may be restored when payment and authorization are confirmed.
