What changed

The U.S. Dentists Database (DB22) is now version 2.0.0, based on source data through October 4, 2026. The release presents individual provider records, reported practice locations, and provider taxonomy entries in three related tables.

The full release contains:

  • 273,116 provider rows
  • 300,817 practice-location rows
  • 327,474 provider-taxonomy rows

Together, the tables contain 901,407 rows. That is total table volume, not a count of individual dentists. A provider may have multiple taxonomy entries or practice locations, so joined results can contain repeated provider identifiers. Count providers at the provider level when the question is how many provider records are included.

How the records are selected

The release is a dated snapshot of reported NPI data. It selects individual Type 1 records using the documented dentist taxonomy mapping, retains taxonomy entries and primary-designation information separately, and includes the defined U.S. practice-location coverage. These fields describe source-reported classifications and locations. They do not independently confirm a current license, employment, office affiliation, or permission to contact someone. The database is not a real-time registry.

Files and license options

The product page lists the tables, fields, profiles, and sample data. The current files are available in CSV, JSON, and SQLite formats. Review the current Usage, Publication, or Master agreement and product-page details before choosing a license. The existing prices are $75 for Usage, $150 for Publication, and $300 for Master. Eligible customers with prior Master rights can review the $18.75 current-version update offer. The written agreement controls the rights for each use.

See the U.S. Dentists Database product page for the complete schema and current options. Read the DB22 version 2.0.0 release update for the release scope and source notes.
