Global rough diamond coverage

The database follows Kimberley Process participants from 2004 through the current 2025 reporting year. Annual participant records provide the durable historical backbone, while semiannual production and quarterly trade and certificate tables support seasonality, trend, market-flow, and compliance research.

Six connected tables

  • Participant years: the complete participant-year spine, with flags showing which annual, semiannual, and quarterly report families contain each participant.
  • Annual participant statistics: production, import, and export carats, U.S. dollar values, calculated value per carat, and annual import and export certificate counts.
  • Semiannual production: first-half, second-half, and annual production volume, value, and value per carat.
  • Quarterly imports: quarterly and annual import volume, value, and value per carat.
  • Quarterly exports: quarterly and annual export volume, value, and value per carat.
  • Quarterly certificate counts: quarterly and annual import and export Kimberley Process certificate totals.

These are aggregated rough diamond statistics, not individual stone listings, polished diamond prices, grading reports, mine-level production records, customs microdata, investment advice, or a guarantee of provenance for any particular diamond. Published values may be revised by the Kimberley Process, and participant reporting practices and coverage can change over time.
