Each row includes the canonical name, official USPS abbreviation, historical prose abbreviation where available, entity type, sovereignty status, Census FIPS code, GNIS identifier where published, ISO 3166-2 identifier where applicable, and a scope note. The protected package includes matching UTF-8 CSV, JSON, and SQLite files plus schema, sample, statistics, source documentation, and integrity evidence.
