Geocode & GIS Data

Our GIS Geocode databases contain the geographic features for the specified area idicated on each download database file. Each Geocode Dataset Includes the Latitude and Longitude of Each Geographic Feature. This dataset is Perfect for Geocoding Applications. Database also contains all Feature Classification for Administrative regions, Populated places, Vegetation, Locality or area, Undersea, Streets, highways, roads, or railroad, Hypsographic, Hydrographic and Spot feature locations. Learn About Geographic Information Systems

GIS Data Usage

With a geographic information system (GIS), you can link information (attributes) to location data, such as people to addresses, buildings to parcels, or streets within a network. You can then layer that information to give you a better understanding of how it all works together. You choose what layers to combine based on what questions you need to answer. A GIS is most often associated with maps. A map, however, is only one way you can work with geographic data in a GIS, and only one type of product generated by a GIS.

About Geocoding

Geocoding can be defined as giving specific geographic indicators to information records. An example of data that could be subject to geocoding is postal addresses. In addition to this, various other forms of media can be geocoded as well. Once the information is recorded it can be mapped and used with GIS, or Geographic Information Systems. The geocoder is a system that will facilitate this procedure. The most basic process for geocoding is to record information that is related to addresses.
